Louisiana Backwater Charters
Louisiana Backwater Charters invites you on a fishing trip you’ll never forget. Captain Brian Hanchey specializes in fishing Calcasieu Lake and its surrounding estuaries, such as Sabine Lake. He’s been fishing in the area since he was 10 years old. He’s earned a reputation as one of the most productive and easy going fishing guide on Calcasieu Lake.
Capt. Brian will meet you in Hebert’s Marina and welcome you aboard his 25’ Haynie bay boat. The boat is powered by a mighty, 400 HP Mercury engine and features safety equipment, navigation electronics, and a live bait tank. The boat accommodates up to 4 guests for standard fishing trips but only 2 for fly fishing.
Your captain specializes in sight fishing in shallow, inshore waters. You’ll mainly go after Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Black Drum, and Tripletail. Capt. Brian will provide your fishing equipment, live bait, and show you different techniques, such as drift fishing, light tackle, popping, or bottom fishing. You only need to bring your own equipment if you plan on fly fishing.
After the trip, you can keep the catch and Capt. Brian will clean and fillet it for you. You need to purchase your fishing license in advance.
Capt. Brian loves teaching people how to fish, especially children. All ages are welcome and the trip can easily be customized for a family adventure. You’ll definitely want your camera ready to snap and capture amazing moments.
Louisiana Backwater Charters is on the lake year round. The only thing missing is you.
