On The Fly PEI
On The Fly PEI offers a great Speckled Trout fly fishing experience and is one of Canada’s best-kept secrets. Cameron has been fly fishing for over 40 years and knows the area like the back of his hand! You’ll be in safe hands with him – literally – as he’s a retired paramedic, too!
Prince Edward Island is a world-class tourist destination, so there is something for the whole family to do. You’ll spend the day fishing the Morell river from the shore and by wading in. This is spring-fed and is a perfect habitat for Speckled Trout and Atlantic Salmon. It’s easily accessible and is easy to wade, with not a lot of hiking to get to prime fishing – can you imagine, great fishing only steps from where you park your car!
The best time for fishing is during the spring and fall. The season goes from April 15 to November 30. There is also good Steelhead fishing here in the late summer and fall. There are NO BEARS on the island, so all your attention can be on catching nice Brookies that range from 10–30 inches… but the big ones didn’t get that big from being stupid! You’ll have to have patience and skill to catch them.
Cameron’s wife is a great baker, so snacks of homemade biscuits and jam are included, along with drinks. Sandwiches are provided on the 6 and 8-hour trips. The scenery is always spectacular, so remember to bring your camera! You’ll see a lot of wildlife!
Talk to the guide about available accommodation in the area. All the rods and reels for the day are included, as well as your fishing license. Bring along appropriate clothing for the weather and plenty of enthusiasm.
Let Cameron know your size for waders before the trip and the age of any kids coming along – under 16 fish free. Trips are ideal for 4 anglers but up to 5 are welcome. Wade fishing is great for the whole family and beginners alike.
Book a trip today with On The Fly, and let Cameron show you his slice of paradise.
