Captain James Seed, a Norfolk native, has been fishing the Bay, as well as the James and Elizabeth Rivers his whole life and is an expert in inshore and nearshore fishing. During the offseason, he’s a school teacher and loves having kids aboard his boat to teach them about the biodiversity of the Chesapeake Bay.
The Bay Roamer is a 21’ Privateer center console, powered by a 200 HP Evinrude engine, designed for versatility, as well as comfort. She comes with a GPS, fishfinder, and flybridge, making her the perfect vessel for sight fishing. She can accommodate up to 3 guests per trip, is equipped with all necessary safety gear, including life jackets, and is perfect for kids and family fishing trips.
Capt. James specializes in sight-casting, trolling, drifting, and bottom fishing so you can choose from a variety of different techniques. You’ll be fishing inshore and nearshore to target Cobia, Redfish, Bluefish, Spadefish, and Spanish Mackerel, as well as bottom fish such as Flounder and Black Drum.
The captain keeps a variety of top-quality rods and reels on board so you don’t have to lug around your own. Live bait is sometimes caught along the way which is very entertaining for kids, allowing them to build confidence and learn some of the basics of fishing before trying to hook onto bigger fish.
