Lancaster Sportfishing is a family-owned business that specializes in offshore excursions on the Gulf of Mexico. Captain Jay knows a thing or two about turning rookies into avid anglers and has been doing so for over 4 decades. He loves the feeling of putting his customers in the right place at the right time and helping them hook their first big catch ever.
Captain Jay’s fishing trips, whether 8 or 10 hour, are designed to create a fun and exciting day of fishing for families and friends. All Capt. Jay’s trips begin by targeting King Mackerel which is fun to catch and live in the same water as many other species of fish. On his trips you have a chance to come face to gills with Mahi Mahi, Cobia, Shark, Blackfin Tuna, Bonito, Jack Crevelle, Barracuda and the occasional Sailfish.
You’ll be fishing from a 42’ Bertram offshore sportfisher that is both comfortable and spacious. You can enjoy a relaxing day of fishing from the aft deck, take in the beautiful view from the top of the flybridge, or head inside to cool off in the air-conditioned cabin.
You’ll reach speeds of up to 21 knots as you cruise to some of the captain’s favorite offshore fishing grounds. This vessel is powered by twin 450 HP Cummins engines, comes with top-notch navigational systems for locating fish and a fully enclosed toilet inside.
Just be sure to purchase your fishing license at the dock before your trip and arrive 15 minutes early. There’s also a place you can have your fish cleaned and filleted for an additional cost, as well as plenty of hook-and-cook restaurants that will prepare and serve your catch for you!
