Lancaster Sportfishing
Lancaster Sportfishing is a family-owned business that specializes in offshore excursions on the Gulf of Mexico. Captain Jay knows a thing or two about turning rookies into avid anglers and has been doing so for over 4 decades. He loves the feeling of putting his customers in the right place at the right time and helping them hook their first big catch ever.
You can expect to catch Kingfish throughout the summer and fall months and Red Snapper during the federal Red Snapper season which runs from June 1 through August 18. Other incidental catches may include Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, Spanish Mackerel, Barracuda, Bonito, Blackfin Tuna, and several species of Shark.
You’ll be fishing from a comfortable 42’ Bertram which is powered by twin 450 HP Cummins engines with an average cruising speed of 22 knots. Navigational systems are top-notch for orientation and locating fish. The cabin interior is air-conditioned and spacious with a large fully enclosed bathroom. If you like a view, you’ll enjoy riding on the flybridge which is also spacious with plenty of seating.
Be sure to purchase your saltwater fishing license no later than the night before your trip and try to arrive at the dock a few minutes early. There is a professional fishing cleaning service at the dock where you can have your fish cleaned as well as plenty of hook-and-cook restaurants that will prepare and serve your catch for you!
