Churchville Outfitters is a family-run operation providing guided fishing expeditions out of Port Glasgow, Ontario. They operate 7 days a week from July 1–September 5. Whether you are an experienced fisherman pursuing a record-breaking lunker or are looking to experience that magical feeling of a fish biting for the first time, Churchville Outfitters has the experience and expertise to guarantee you leave with great pictures,
fresh fish, and an unforgettable summer day.
Join Captain Ben Schnekenburger aboard his 30’ Baha cruiser boat powered by a 454 HP Volvo engine. It features downriggers, a wireless trolling motor, an ice box, top-notch marine electronics and safety gear, as well as a restroom, beds, and a multimedia system. It can take up to 5 anglers, out of which 2 could be reeling in the fish at the same time. The first mate will be present on some trips, depending on the group size and experience.
The captain can take you up to 10 miles out on the lake, and he’ll show you all his favourite hot spots. You’ll be trolling for Walleye and Steelhead, and you’ll get to keep all the fish. Catch and release is usually not done for this type of fishing because the fish are not likely to survive, though it is not forbidden. There’s a catch cleaning service at the marina, and the cost depends on the size and amount of fish.
You’ll be supplied with top-tier Okuma fishing equipment, as well as lures (live bait is not used). The clients should bring a cooler for the catch which stays in their car, and the crew will transfer the fish upon return. You should also bring a small cooler with refreshments if you want, soft-soled shoes, appropriate clothing, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
Refreshments can be provided by the captain upon request for an additional cost – you just need to let him know in advance what you want. Fishing licences need to be purchased online the day before the trip.
