Citrus County Outfitters invites you to join Captain Mike Sorrel on a fishing adventure along Florida’s Nature Coast! Capt. Mike fishes out of Crystal River and Homosassa depending on the season, target species, and water conditions. It’s a “fisherman’s paradise”!

You’ll be fishing from a Hell’s Bay Professional with all the tackle you need for a successful day on the water.

You’ll have your choice between fly or light spin fishing gear, and target species options of redfish, snook, or speckled with occasional shots at cobia, tarpon, or tripletail.

Capt. Mike provides premium rods made by St. Croix, Sage, and Shimano that are paired with top-end reels from Nautilus, Shimano, and Tibor. Your fishing license is already covered so you can just come straight to the dock ready to fish! Just be sure to bring some long sleeves, sunblock, a hat, and sunglasses and the rest will be taken care of.

    Get ready to feel the power of Homosassa’s giant tarpon as it runs and jumps high into the air! Getting one to hand is a true challenge and one of the most exhilarating feelings ever. You'll be provided with all the necessary equipment, just bring some snacks, drinks, long-sleeves, sunblock and the rest will be taken care of! Please note this charter is strictly fly fishing, and the ability to cast a 10-12 wt fly rod at least 40 feet into is typically required to make successful presentations.

Captain Mike was born in New Iberia, Louisiana, and grew up fishing with his family and friends. He bought his first boat at 15, and his second at 18. No opportunity to go fishing (or hunting) was ever wasted. Mike would even fish from the oil rigs he worked on after high school while saving money for college. And his mechanical engineering studies at Georgia Tech didn't stop him from fishing around Atlanta, Georgia's lakes, and the Atlantic Coast. Captain Mike continued to fish wherever he traveled away from Atlanta. Family vacations always included fishing day(s). When he moved to Florida in 2012, he started fishing Homosassa and Citrus County. He couldn't believe the similarities to Louisiana and knew he had to make Citrus County his forever home.
