Our family had a fantastic day out on the Sea Flea yesterday! Capt Brian Butts has been fishing on Lake Michigan for decades and he puts his knowledge and experience to work for the benefit of his clients.
In our case, when the fishing slowed down mid-morning, he literally went the extra mile and took us out “off the beaten path” to find some big kings in deeper water.
His 36’ Tiara boat was clean, quiet and comfortable, and all of the gear was top notch. And when we were back at the Chinook Pier, Capt Brian and his mate expertly cleaned and filleted all of our fish. I’m writing this review after a dinner of grilled coho salmon fillets and I’ve got 20 lbs of king salmon fillets in brine that will go in the smoker tomorrow!
No captain can control the wind, water temps, and other variables that make every day different fishing on Lake Michigan. But on any given day, I don’t think you will find a better combination of the experience, equipment, and commitment to excellence that you will have with Capt Brian. Highly recommended!

The original trip was cancelled due to weather and I’m so glad I took Captain Brian’s advice on rebooking later in the week.  The captain and his crew of two were amazing.  They worked really hard to ensure my family of six had a great time.  The crew was very accommodating to my kids and made the experience worth it.  The boat was in great shape and the size made the experience that much more enjoyable.  We walked away this morning with 13 fish and my kids have memories they’ll talk about for years to come.  Thanks Captain Brian!  If you are thinking about Sea Flea Charters do not hesitate, you will not be disappointed.

Captain Brian was a great communicator and really proactive with weather. Our originally scheduled trip was scheduled for some not so great weather and he encouraged us to reschedule while we were in town. He was unable to get us in but scheduled us with a fellow boat, Fish N Fowl Guide service. Captain Sam and First Mate Will were amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and made great conversation, so much so that we would have had a wonderful time if we hadn’t caught any fish. Fortunately, we had an amazing day by catching 10 fish! I would highly recommend to anyone. This was the highlight of our trip!!

I learned a great lesson - trust the captains. The weather forecast for the trip looked bad the day before but captain Brian said it would be ok according to his apps (which I liked better). It stopped raining before the trip and the fishing was perfect! Captain Jason knew where to take them, explained a lot to the group as they fished plus they caught so many king salmon! SeaFlea Charters has the experience and knowledge about fishing, and our group is already talking about making this an annual event. We would definitely use them again! Five big stars!

Captain, better late than never. This trip I booked for my son and I was without a doubt the finest day of fishing I have ever experienced on Lake Michigan. I have been on over thirty charters on the lake over he last 13 years and have never landed as many large salmon on any of my prior trips.
