Kootenay Kingfisher is based in Ucluelet and offers fun fishing trips on the area’s rich offshore waters. Captain Kurt Easy loves putting his guests on the fish and making their experience a memorable one. Pick a day you like and join him aboard for a beautiful day of fishing in British Columbia, Canada.
You and the captain will be fishing from a restored 25’ Hourston cuddy cabin that can safely take up to 4 anglers. It’s powered by a 300 HP Yamaha outboard engine and rigged with all the modern GPS, fishfinder, VHF radio, as well as radar navigation technology. The boat has got a portable toilet and comes with an ice-box and downriggers.
On your trip, you’ll mainly be fishing for Chinook Salmon and Halibut. The techniques you can expect to use to reel them in include heavy tackle, bottom fishing, big game fishing, trolling, jigging, as well as drift fishing. You can choose to take home the fish you catch or release it back into the water.
Captain Kurt will provide you with the fishing rods, reels, tackle, and lures. After the trip, he offers to clean and fillet your catch so it’s ready for cooking when you get back home. You should bring your licenses and any snacks and drinks you want before coming on board.
