The vision of Chasing Tarpon is to provide their guests with the opportunity to safely catch and release Tarpon, all while making lifetime memories and enjoying time together on the water.
Captain Timothy Bowman will guide you through the Caribbean inshore angling experience, as you cast along scenic mangroves while keeping an eye out for rolling trophies. You’ll fish the San Juan lagoon system, a calm body of water, which currently holds the record for the largest Tarpon caught in Puerto Rico! Additionally, you’ll enjoy watching sea birds, iguanas, and an occasional manatee, as lush tropical mountains loom in the distance.
You and up to two additional friends will fish out of a 17’ Mako flats boat, a wide comfortable vessel built for serious anglers. She’s powered by a 115 HP Mercury engine to get you to the fishing spot fast but she also has a wireless trolling motor, for when you’re seeking to silently stalk prey. Kids are welcome as well but it’s not advisable to bring babies and toddlers.
Puerto Rico is home to Tarpon all year long and the captain will always fish, rain or shine. You may also catch Snook and Jack Crevalle. Note that all fish have to be released and because of that, you don’t need a fishing license.
All skill levels and ages are welcome! Captain Timothy eagerly provides coaching and instruction, especially if it’s your first time in Puerto Rico. He will provide all rods, tackle, lures, live bait, and bottled water. Feel free to bring your own snacks and drinks for the day.
Explore Puerto Rico as never before and reel in one of the most wanted fish out there!
