The Mohaka is a spectacular location and one of the finest wilderness river systems in New Zealand. This is also the home to Rainbow and Brown Trout which can reach up to 10 pounds or more!

Each trip is tailor-made to provide the best possible experience for everyone. You can try your hand at both spin and fly fishing and your guide will provide all the angling equipment you need.

There’s a variety of trips to choose from – from half day and full day excursions to multi-day expeditions. If you’re sticking around for several days, you can pick whether you’d like to camp right by the river or enjoy the comfort of Capt. Deon’s bed and breakfast. Food, drinks, and camping equipment are provided on every trip.

You will be fishing out of a 15’ commercial raft that has room for up to 4 people per raft. Because rafting is a big part of your trip, you’ll have oars to help you propel you through the rapids. Capt. Deon will have life jackets for everyone on board. Safety is his number one priority!
