North Coast River Adventures

Experience the beauty of Northern California’s coastal rivers with Patrick Burns of North Coast River Adventures! Enjoy fishing for Steelhead and Salmon on the Smith River, Trinity River, Klamath River, and Eel rivers. Capt. Patrick is a professional guide and he will make sure your day on the water with him is a successful one, whether you’re a seasoned pro or a novice angler.

You’ll navigate these rivers in the comfort of a 17’ Willies drift boat. She’s outfitted with a heater and padded seats. The boat accommodates only 3 guests, to ensure there’s enough time for everybody to fish at the same time and there’s no taking turns.

Capt. Patrick is proficient at running trips in all 4 rivers but choosing the destination for your trip depends on what you want to catch and the seasonality. You can go to Eel River to enjoy the scenery besides fishing; the Smith River if you want the wild, natural flow of the water; Klamath River for record numbers of Steelheads; or Trinity River, which is so clear that you can see the fish from the boat and have the opportunity to catch both Salmon and Steelhead on the same day!

You’ll use high quality gear and fresh bait. The captain provides Lamiglas rods, Shimano reels, and Power Pro braided line – everything that will increase your chances of hooking and landing the fish. He also uses pre-made leaders and weights in order to maximize your fishing time.

Capt. Patrick takes pride in his attention to detail and constant effort to improve his service by investing in the latest technology and gear. You can always expect a 100% effort from his part and an enjoyable day on the river.

I have been fishing the Northern California Coastal Rivers since I was a kid. I purchased my first drift boat from Fish Rite in 2003. In 2007 I started guiding and my first trip was at the mouth of the Klamath River. That day started out being slow but after making some adjustments we limited out by the end of our day. Over the years I have refined my fishing techniques and have become proficient at navigating class 4 waters. Aside from putting my customers on fish getting my customers on and off the water safely is my first agenda. I believe that to be a successful angler you must understand the fish and there habitat. I love teaching people these techniques and my goal is that at the end of the day my customers walk away feeling that they have become skilled anglers. I run a tight ship and I treat my boat and gear with the upmost respect and expect my guest to do the same. Fishing can be challenging at times and a good attitude makes a difference. Fish Strong and Live On.
