Fishmasters Sportfishing II

Quepos
Quepos PU, Costa Rica

Fishmaster Sportfishing spends the winter months targeting the huge range of species available out of Quepos. These waters are famous for their huge Sailfish and Marlin, with equally-impressive catches of Roosterfish, Snook, and more in the shallows.

On a four hour trip, you will be exploring the local river mouths and bays in search of hard-fighting inshore species. Quepos has some of the biggest Snook in the world, with a potential world record pulled from these waters in 2014, and plenty more still waiting to be caught. There are also Roosterfish, Jacks, Tasty Snappers, and more.

But it is offshore that Fishmaster Sportfishing really starts to shine. The crew specializes in getting clients on monster catches of Blue, and White Marlin, as well as Quepos’ unofficial mascot, Pacific Sailfish. There are also plenty of Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and Tuna, for a great meal at the end of an awesome day on the water.

The boat you will be fishing on is a 28’ Carolina Classic, built in 2003 and freshly restored in 2016. She cruises at a respectable 28 knots, carrying groups of up to 5 anglers out to the best fishing spots, just a short boat ride from Marina Pez Vela.

You really won’t find better than this, with tournament-grade tackle, a clean, modern boat, and an experienced captain and crew. How experienced? Let’s just say that they are so confident in their abilities that if they don’t manage to get you on anything, your next trip is FREE!

It was a great experience right from start to finish!  Both fish we caught were splendid and for mu husband to actually bring in a sailfish was a dream come true for him!  Very, very great experience!  We would like to receive a copy sent to our email address..Jackson said we would get them!

The captain of this boat transferred us to another boat due to engine problems with his boat.  That all went well, although the crew of the other boat, Good Day, initially wanted the $700 balance in cash but were eventually allowed by the owner to take a credit card.

We had a blue marlin on the line within 5 minutes of putting bait in the water, and fought it for an hour and a half.  Unfortunately, there was too much lightning to stay put and the seas were getting a little rough (my family was on board), so I decided to release the fish and head back to Quepos.

It was definitely an exciting trip, and everyone had a chance to fight a big fish, so we were satisfied.  The weather didn’t cooperate, but the crew was excellent and the fishing truly could not have been any better.
