Slackwater Expeditions Charters is a professional guide service based out of Charleston, SC. Your guide, Captain Bryant Wilson, is a true local who’s fished these Lowcountry waters for over 30 years! He specializes in fly and light tackle sight fishing, and can’t wait to help you explore the coastal river flats, backcountry estuaries, and inshore waters of South Carolina.
Thanks to his years of experience in this area, Capt. Bryant knows when and where your target species will be biting in these waters. You’ll focus on popular game species such as Redfish, Speckled Trout, Flounder. Depending on the season, you can also target Jack Crevalle, Sharks and Cobia.
Fishing these areas means that there’s plenty of opportunities for you to get “visual confirmation” of your target species. Capt. Bryant will generally have you sight fishing, which he likes to say is similar to hunting. This method allows you to locate, pursue, and then present a fly, lure or bait to your target. It’s a seriously exciting and rewarding experience!
Speaking of the boat, you’ll be fishing from your captain’s 17’ Technical Poling skiff, designed to get into the skinniest of waters. This means she can access seriously shallow spots that other, larger boats can’t reach. Your captain welcomes up to 2 guests to join him, and children age 10 and up can join in on the adventure.
Although Capt. Bryant specializes in sight fishing using fly rods or light tackle, this depends a lot on the tide cycle, moon phase, and time of year. Using this information, Capt. Bryant will formulate an awesome game plan to ensure that you have an unforgettable and memorable experience on the water!
Your trip includes all the conventional and fly fishing gear you’ll need, as well as a fishing license and professional DLSR photos of you and your catch. Just grab some snacks and drinks and hop aboard Slackwater Expeditions Charters for an incredible adventure!
