Captain Drey Thomason is a licensed USCG captain.
I run a brand new 2022 Pair Marine 24Mv powered by a Suzuki 300. I have spent most of my life fishing the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. Light tackle has always been my favorite form of fishing. I fish year-round with light tackle gear and artificial lures. The Chesapeake Bay is the third-largest estuary in the world. It offers some of the best light tackle fishing there is. With many species throughout the four seasons. During the spring/summer months, we offer some of the best light tackle Striped Bass shallow water expeditions. The Chesapeake Bay also has one of the best Red Drum fisheries in the nation. This large Red Drum is world-class and pound-for-pound the strongest fighting fish in our water. Capt. Drey puts a lot of time and hard work into staying on the patterns of both large Drum and large Striped Bass as they migrate in and out. A note – generally you chase Cobia mixed in while searching for Drum.

Captain Drey Thomason is a full time light tackle fishing guide here on the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. Light Tackle fishing is by far one of the most enjoyable ways to fish the Chesapeake Bay. We target a variety of species such as Striped Bass, Red Drum, Cobia, Speckled Trout, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and a few other species that swim in our waterways. Most of these species listed are seasonal catches but we are able to fish all four seasons here in Maryland. My boat is well equipped with some of the best tackle and electronics in the game with Backyard custom rods, Florida fishing products reels, Simrad, Minn Kota.
