One of our top picks in St Petersburg. Nautical Nonsense invites you on a fishing adventure out of one of Florida’s most beautiful cities: St Petersburg. The fact this city is turned towards the Gulf of Mexico means it has vibrant sea life that includes many good game sport fish species, and some very delicious ones to eat, too.
You will fish for a variety of species including Redfish, Snook, King Mackerel, Flounder, Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead, Shark, Grouper, and the elusive Tarpon. You’ll do it using the onboard fishing gear that includes rods, reel, tackle, and baits, and the most important ingredient of a successful fishing trip: a knowledgeable captain.
Nautical Nonsense is owned and operated by Captain Pat Hudson who is a USCG licensed captain. He loves fishing and being on the water. He is a relaxed and patient person, so if you are fishing for the first time he’ll make sure you are well taken care of.
Captain Pat will take you out on his brand new 2017 Robalo Cayman 226 bay boat powered by a 200HP Yamaha engine. It measures 22.5 feet in length and is licensed to carry 4 fishermen comfortably. The boat has all the safety feature as per USCG requirements, as well as top notch electronics used for locating the best fishing spots.
Nautical Nonsense can take you on four, six, and eight-hour trips in the inshore and nearshore waters, or up to 10 nautical miles off the coast. You will enjoy the dry ride and the comfortable seating, all underneath a big t-top that provides plenty of shade in the hot Floridian sun.
Captain Pat will provide you with the fishing gear, snacks and water for refreshment, and you are to purchase a fishing license prior to the trip.

Captain Pat is a fun guy and knows how to catch fish. We really enjoyed our trip out to the reefs and caught several grouper, a barracuda, and a cobia. Thanks Cap’n Pat!
