Ice fishing is one of the favorite winter pastimes in Minnesota and if you’ve never tried it before, Prime Time Guide Service is there to take you out! With Benjamin Elfelt to organize a fun day on the ice, productive fishing is all but guaranteed.
Ben is a Forest Lake local and he spent most of his life exploring these waters in all seasons. He knows exactly where the fish go at the height of winter and what setup to use to attract them to bite.
You will meet with your guide and depending on the ice conditions, together you will either walk to the best spots, or he will drive you in his snowmobile or truck. He can take out a group of up to 6 people, so whether you’d like to come with your family or friends (or both!), you’re welcome to do so.
Everything you need concerning ice fishing equipment, your guide will provide, including suitable rods, reels, and tackle. He will drill holes in the ice for you as well, and it’s up to you to wait for something to bite.
When it comes to the fish species you’ll be targeting, big Walleye, Crappie, Northern Pike, and Muskellunge are all on your to-catch list. Some of them come in impressive sizes, so getting them out from the waters through inches of ice will be a feat of strength and skill.
For your ice fishing expedition, you will need a fishing license, very warm clothing suitable for low Minnesota temperatures, and maybe a thermos with a warm drink and some snacks. Ben will take care of everything else.
Come fishing with Prime Time Guide Service and get hooked on ice fishing!
