Split Shot Charters caters to a wide array of anglers. If you and your family would like to spend half a day enjoying the sunshine, learning about the marine ecosystem and catching whatever’s biting that day, you’ll find trips where you can do exactly that.

If, on the other hand, you’re looking to go after a very particular fish and need a captain who knows exactly where you’d have the best chance at your dream catch this is definitely the charter for you. Captain Russ Lowers is a marine biologist with experience working for NASA, a divemaster and an experienced captain. If your target swims in these waters he’ll know where to look.

Your boat for the day will be a 2019, 28’ Delta saltwater fisher. Equipped with all the necessary safety equipment, GPS, fishfinder, live bait tank, and a private toilet, the boat provides anglers with all the things they could need for a productive day of fishing. The vessel can accommodate up to 6 anglers who can all fish together on trolling trips. If you’re bottom fishing, 2-3 anglers can fish together.

Kids above the age of 5 are welcome, but parents should always consider whether their child will be able to handle being at the sea for the duration of the trip. Things you should pack for the trip are food and drinks, sunscreen and sunglasses. At the conclusion of your trip, the captain can clean your catch free of charge.

Captain Russ is a marine biologist, as well as captain. He used to work for NASA at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral as a Wildlife Biologist – so you could say he's an expert. He's also a divemaster and has had his captain's license for 15 years. He's been fishing in the local waters for the past 32 years, he likes having fun on the water and witnessing kids catch their first fish.
