If you’re up for a laid-back day on the water, but still filled with chase, take a seat aboard Panama GEM’s pontoon boat and explore the waters of Lake Gatun. Here you will find year-round supply of Peacock Bass and Tarpon, stunning scenery, and a knowledgeable guide. Pack your bag and get going.
Lake Gatun is one of the largest artificial lakes and is part of the Panama Canal. It’s rich in wildlife and you will get to see numerous flocks of birds, wild monkeys, and much more. Make sure to bring a camera to make some nice imagery on your trip.
Your vessel for the day is a 25’ custom-built pontoon that can take up to eight people. The boat is powered by a 70 HP Yamaha engine and will give you enough stability to explore the fishing opportunities to the fullest. The crew will provide life jackets. Onboard you will find all the fishing gear you need, as well as some snacks and juice.
These trips are a good chance to try light tackle fishing, jigging for Peacock Bass or grappling with Tarpon. Some of these fish can grow quite big and will put to the test even the most experienced angler.
When you’re packing for the trip, make sure to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water to stay hydrated, and a camera. You may also want to bring an extra layer of clothes, just in case.
The crew of Panama GEM Charters has local knowledge of the lake waters and will work to make your trip enjoyable. These trips are fun and relaxing, so if you want to unwind, come here and have a day to remember!
