Big Marlin Punta Cana Charters offers you to take a ride to the beautiful Bavaro in Punta Cana. The Atlantic Ocean is a cradle for the best trophy fish, and a day out aboard “Fortuna” will be an exciting and eventful adventure.
The “Fortuna” is their spacious 42-foot boat, powered by twin 485HP Detroit Diesel engines. This stylish vessel is very comfortable, and is rigged with all the top-of-the-line navigational electronics, including a GPS and a fish finder. “Fortuna” has a multimedia system, as well as an ice-box and a fighting chair. What is more, there is a toilet on board, which is more than just a necessity when spending a day on the water! The boat can cater up to eight guests.
The Captain and the crew have thousands of hours of experience sailing the local waters. On the trip of your choosing, you will be able to use trolling and heavy tackle fishing techniques. Your targeted species will include Mahi Mahi, Great Barracuda, Blue and White Marlins, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and even Sailfish.
Your trip will include fishing licenses, Shimano and Penn International rods and reels, as well as Rapala lures and fresh live bait. Apart from that, the crew will not leave you starving: you will be offered refreshing drinks, snacks, and lunch. The fish you catch will be cleaned and filleted to take home with you at the end of the trip.

3/4 Day Trip - Professional Anglers
Fantastic crew, put us on fish
We had our trip canceled on the fortuna due to weather so we went in the Sherlock the day before. Very grateful they could accommodate us. It was a slow day, morning crew only caught 1 fish. Our captain did everything he could to put us on fish. 1st mate kept us entertained with historical knowledge and music. After an Hour into our 4 hr trip the captain spotted a group of Mahi ( No idea how ) and we were on. In total we caught 2 Mahi, 2 Wahoo and 2 barracuda. Great day of fishing.

Amazing Crew!
We ended up fishing on La Fortuna, and the boat was a nice boat with good equipment. However our charters highlight was the crew. Eddie was the first mate on our boat, and he was incredibly personable and fun to chat with. Additionally, some members of our group became seasick and the crew was incredibly flexible to meet the needs of everyone. Thanks Big Marlin Charters!

Big Fortuna put us on the fish
Excellent time! The guys were outstanding- funny, helpful, polite, knowledgeable. From the time we were picked up to the time we were dropped off, we were escorted or accompanied by at least one member of the team and we always felt safe and well cared for. They were super helpful when the younger members of our family were reeling fish in, snacks and water were available and accessible at all times. Really fantastic

Our deckhand and captain were a great team. They make taking the waves on look easy, we however were feeling queasy. 1/2 day was perfect for us. Only caught 1, but we are grateful!

Great fishing trip!
Did the 6 hour trip. The boat was great size, clean and comfortable! First mate Ed was super! He moved all the time checking the lines and doing his fish calls! Waves were pretty big that day! We caught several fish! I highly recommend fishing on the Fortuna!
