Big Johnson's Guide Service – Tillamook
The waters of Tillamook Bay and beyond have a lot to offer to all levels of anglers, and few know it better than Big Johnson’s Guide Service! Captain Jamison Johnson has spent most of his life fishing in the area, so he knows where all the best fish hide and how to get them to bite.
Salmon is the prized catch here, and it’s hardly a surprise, seeing how hard-fighting and tasty they are. Chinook and Coho are popular in Tillamook Bay and in the ocean waters around it. If you come in August, Capt. Jamison will take you to British Columbia, to experience the legendary Buoy 10 fishery.
But there’s more than Salmon to Tillamook fishing. Halibut are abundant here, along with Steelhead and Black Seabass. Crabbing is another popular pastime and you can try it out year-round – it’s a lot of fun, not to mention that you’ll be savoring your delicious catch right after your trip.
You’ll be fishing out of a 20’ Willie’s aluminum fisher with twin 150 HP Yamaha engines and more than enough room to accommodate up to 4 anglers. Thanks to the reliable marine electronics, you’ll closely follow your prey and then use Okuma fishing gear to reel it in.
Your guide will provide both live bait and lures, depending on what species you’d like to target and what works best. When you come back to shore, Capt. Jamison will clean and fillet the catch for your convenience so that you can enjoy it as soon as possible.
Feel free to come fishing with your kids and let them learn fishing basics and have fun with you. The only thing you should think about before the trip is stocking up drinks and food, and bringing your fishing license.
