The trip of a lifetime, September 2015.  10 days on board the Swordfish with Capt Viv, cook Bridget and crew.  Loved the Swordfish.  Extremely comfortable and fabulous food (thanks Bridget).  Viv is tremendous.  I was born a Pommie but I’m now a true blue Aussie.  Capt Viv is the kind of Australian that made me want to take out Aussie citizenship - friendly without being sycophantic, knowledgeable and happy to share his knowledge, always on top of his game, always looking to make his guests’ day better, liberal with fishing advice without being pushy and with a wonderful dry sense of humour.  I felt very safe on board the Swordfish.  Oh, and the fishing.  Fantastic.  Barra galore (mainly 60 to 75 cms) and lots of other species.  And the mud crabs were divine.  As for the broken rods, one was a snag accident and the other was snapped by something huge.  We never got to see it even after 15 minutes of blood, sweat and tears.  Probably several hundred pounds of groper.  I still tremble when I think of it.

The barra fishing was disappointing, but I appreciate the reasons for this. The reef fishing was very exciting..Life on board the Swordfish was great, and the food was exceptional.I can’t wait to return next year.

Thanks for the review John, We really did have a magical trip, despite the cold water keeping the Barra down. However we did catch a few other nice Jewie,s and managed a metre Barra, and a huge Cod plus others. Attached are some of the photos.
