Trip Summary

My regular guest Ted spent the morning inshore fishing in Boca Grande & Gasparilla Sound. Bait is starting to become plentiful on our grass flats, getting our backwater species fired up. Sheepshead still hanging out around structure, (docks, pilings and rocky bottom) eating weighted baits as they float by. During today's trip, Ted caught a bunch of redfish, tagging a few for Gray Fishtag Research. Today's Tackle : Ted was using a Penn Battle II & 20lb Bullbuster fishing line to a 3/0 circle hook. Largest redfish was at 27 1/2 inches and estimated 8lbs. Spring is heating up in South West Florida. Tarpon are beginning to show up in small numbers, only about a week until the first tarpon trip of the year. I have a limited number of dates still available, check out my calendar for more information.
