Join No Excuses Striper Fishing On Lake Lanier and try your hand at different ways to catch the hardest fighting fish this side of the ocean. Explore the fishing grounds of Lake Lanier as well as its two tributary rivers – Chattahoochee and Chestatee. Striper fishing is very popular locally and the captain is often able to take advantage of his network of local guides to put you on the fish as fast as possible.
Your boat for the day will be a 2016, 22’ Sea Hunt center console, powered by a 200 HP Yamaha outboard. Your guide, Brad Whitehead, keeps his boat equipped with the newest and most updated gear and technology he can get his hands on. This includes state-of-the-art Hummingbird Solix 15 for mapping, communication, and fish finding. The vessel can accommodate up to 4 anglers, all of who can fish at the same time.
Anglers of all skill levels are welcome to join in on the action. Brad is an experienced guide and enjoys teaching anglers new fishing techniques and seeing them being effective right away. Depending on the trip you’ll get a chance to try out trolling, bottom fishing, jigging, and more. Whatever the case may be, all tackle is always provided by the charter. Striped Bass is the main target of all trips although incidental catches may include Spotted Bass, Largemouth Bass, Catfish, Crappie, Longnose Gar, and Walleye.
Ahead of your trip, you’ll need to get a fishing license. It can be bought online at the Georgia DNR webpage. Bait is always bought before the trip and is always included in the price. Customers are welcome to bring their own food and drinks, as well as sunscreen as long as it’s not spray-on.
Trips are usually available only on weekends but, if you give the guide a one-week notice, he’ll be happy to book you during the week as well.
Now, all you have to do is find an opening in the guide’s calendar that works for you and you’ll be able to book your adventure on Lake Lanier right away!
