Join Kalastus Saario Fishing and get ready for an unforgettable adventure on the Tornionjoki River! You’ll fish the unhindered waters of Pello, searching for the elusive Atlantic Salmon as they make their way upstream to spawn.
Your guide for the day, Jukka Saario, is a local fly fishing enthusiast who’s been fishing these waters since he was a young boy. He’s been guiding trips in Finland for over 20 years and has the experience and knowledge to put you on big fish!
Your boat for the day is a 19’ custom-built, traditional wooden drift boat. This beauty was hand-made with precision and care, and it really shows in its performance. The boat takes the powerful waters of the Tornionjoki with ease as it chops through its fast streams. She accommodates up to 2 guests and children of all ages are welcome aboard.
The captain’s boat is fully-equipped with state-of-the-art fishing equipment, safety gear, and a fighting chair. You’ll be fishing with top-quality Abu Garcia rods and reels, as well as high-performance lures and flies for fly fishing.
Your main target species is Atlantic Salmon, however, you’ll also have the opportunity to catch other freshwater species, such as Grayling. Both are extremely fun to catch and challenging for expert and beginner anglers alike.
Salmon can get really big in the Tornionjoki River, averaging about 10 kg (22 lb) and ranging up to 20 kg (44 lb). These fish like to put up a serious fight, so be sure to bring extra elbow grease!
After your trip, Jukka will offer to clean your catch so that you can take it home for a delicious meal. Just remember to pick up a fishing license before your trip, dress according to the weather, and feel free to bring a cooler with food and drinks as well.
Get ready to explore Finland’s untouched wilderness and join Kalastus Saario Fishing on the Tornionjoki River. Your guide is waiting to show you the time of your life, so book your trip today, and get ready to create lasting memories in Pello!
