Red Vision Fishing Charters
Red Vision Fishing Charters is a fishing charter business based out of South Padre Island, Texas. Captain Brett Hill learned everything he knows from his father, Captain Phil Hill, who started fishing these waters in the ’80s. Together, they have over 50 years of experience and know every nook and cranny of the lower Laguna Madre bay. Join them for a fishing adventure you won’t soon forget.
Your boat for the day will be an 18’ Shallow Sport, powered by a 140 HP Suzuki outboard. The boat features a shallow draft ideal for stalking the flats, a sight casting tower, and an 8ft power pole to help you put more fish in the boat. Combine this with captain’s extensive knowledge of these waters and you’ll truly be able to follow the fish anywhere they go. The vessel can accommodate 3 guests, who can all comfortably fish together.
The main species you’re going to be targeting include Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder. Occasionally, you’ll get a chance to land some Black Drum, and maybe a Snook or two. The captain will teach even the most novice of fisherman how to successfully cast, hook and land a fish. He’s also great with kids and always encourages the young ones to start fishing early. The minimum age for kids is 6 years old.
All equipment and artificial bait you need will be provided by the charter. The captain uses all high-quality equipment including exclusively Shimano reels, Old 18 Outfitters rods, and FINS Windtamer braided line. Live bait is available upon request, at a market cost.
On board, you’ll find bottled water, as well as two coolers. You should still bring small coolers to take the catch home. Another thing you need to bring with you is a valid fishing license which can be bought online or at a shop near the boat (ask for directions). Finally, don’t forget to pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and any additional food and drinks you’d like.
Now if you already have a date in mind, check the captain’s availability, and book your trip today!
