This is our second half day near-shore trip with Captain Eduardo, and just as last time, it was absolutely fantastic.  Caught Trigger Fish, Sea Bass, and we even each caught a Flounder this time.  Last time (spring 2021), we caught mostly Sea Bass, and this trip, mostly Trigger Fish, with the two Flounders added to the mix.  Caught another species Eduardo called Chile (sp.), but he said those were too bony to keep.  What a day!  Highly recommend Eduardo to anyone who wants to go fishing in Puerto Peñasco!  Incredibly affordable too.  Tip Well!

My friend and I went fishing with Eduardo and had a fantastic experience. He knew where the fish were, got us into fish 30 minutes after Leaving the dock. We knew that he had a smaller older boat but we chose him because of the years of experience he has and offers a reasonable rate. We caught a mess of rockfish, three triggerfish, a few trash fish, and my buddy caught a very nice flounder. We would go out with him again in a heartbeat. Forget how old the boat is and tune in to the fact that he get’s you onto fish so that you’re catching fish not just fishing for fish. Hey fillets and fish while we’re out there fishing so that you end up coming in with just edible fish fillets with no bones and just ready to cook fish With no skins.

Despite his limited English, Eduardo was an excellent and personable Captain who knows the sea well around Puerto Penasco.  We caught a lot of fish (50-60) and while he took the time to ‘fillet’ our entire catch, he didn’t remove the spines of our fish.  That required us to take a couple hours of work that evening to get them truly filleted.  Make sure to ask him to take that extra step during the prep process.

His boat “Bubba” is a VERY basic craft but sturdy, safe and served its purpose well.  It has a small canopy so I’d recommend you bring sunscreen and anything else you would want to have on a 4-5 hour trip.  For the price and experience it met my expectations and I would consider another trip with Eduardo in the future.

This was our first fishing in Puerto Penasco. We had a lot fun and luck on our trip. Captain Edwardo was great. He knew all the fishing spots. We caught a lot of sea bass and 1 red snapper. He even cut and clean the fish for us. Make sure you take a cooler with drinks and enjoy your time on the water.💜

Was ready to go right on time, with equipment all set up.  Had to cut the trip short due to a member of our party getting seasick, but fishing was consistently good while we were out, with sea bass striking well. Eduardo was particularly attentive to my son, helping him hook a few fairly good sized catches.
