Start your Texas inshore adventure with Bay Finatic. Capt. Joe Guerra, Xavier Guerra, and Ricky Agado run trips out of Matagorda Bay, TX, and we are all USCG-licensed and certified. We've been fishing this area for over 15 years, and we are on the water year-round.
We welcome you aboard his 2021 24' Haynie Cat boat. Our bay boats are top of the line and can reach a good speed and get you to any fishing spot in no time. The boats accommodate up to 4 guests.
Your main targets will be the Big Three – Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Flounder. But the fun doesn't end there. In these waters, you can also find Black Drum and Sheepshead, depending on the season and fishing grounds you visit. Capt. Joe mainly uses drift fishing, structure, and reef fishing techniques with popping CorkS. If you want to enjoy your catch to the fullest and take some fresh fillets with you, the captain will clean it for you after the trip.
Your rods, reels, and fishing tackle are fully covered by the captain. Live bait is extra charged if you want to use it. But using live bait is the best way to catch fish and is highly recommended! These trips are great for kids or guests who aren't used to boats. You're required to purchase a fishing license in Texas, so make sure to do it before the trip.

Our Flounder boat is powered by a 140 HP Suzuki motor, a 460 cc push fan motor, top-of-the-line flounder lights that gradually adjust, and lamination that ranges from warm amber to cool white to increase visibility in clear or muddy water. You will be able to gig flounder, black drum, and sheepshead. The boat accommodates up to 3 guests. If you have a 4th person, please speak to the captain.

Conditions weren’t great but Captain Joe put us on some fish. Highly Recommend.
Captain Joe G. went above and beyond the call to put us on some slabs during equinox tidal conditions that were challenging. He made my wife’s birthday giggin trip a total success. I would highly recommend Captain Joe!
Booked less than 24 hours beforehand (not usually ideal), but he agreed and took my brother and I out on a cold and windy day. Weather wasn’t great, but he got us on a bunch of reds, a few black drum, and a few sheepshead. Highly recommend Captain Joe.
Captain Joe took my father and I out fishing in Matagorda Bay and we were beyond impressed. The winds were strong all day and we were worried that might be bad for fishing, but Joe made sure we kept trying different locations until we had success. At one point we were right on top of a school of Reds which was really cool to see. Joe's boat is brand new and the equipment is state of the art. We went through different areas of the Colorado River with ease and ended up catching a total of 6 fish (Red Drum, Black Drum, Trout, Sheepshead). Joe arrived at the dock super early to make sure we had live bait and was very attentive throughout the whole trip. He gave us tips on how to become better fisherman and we're already excited to book our next outing. Do yourself the favor and go with Joe on your next fishing outing. He's very talented at what he does and he'll be our go-to guide any time we want to go fishing. You're almost guaranteed to have a successful fishing tip!

This was our first time gigging. Captain Joe was very informational on the process. Very low tide, but he kept putting us on the fish. If you’re looking for a great captain that will do what it takes, look no further. Highly recommended.
