Captain Matt was outstanding, truly made this trip a memorable occasion! Matt was very attentive with our first-timers, answering questions, baiting hooks, teaching how to cast, etc. As for our more experienced fishers, Captain Matt had every variation of live bait available and we tried them all. Captain Matt was truly invested in making sure our trip was the best, that we all caught fish, and surpassed expectations on every level. Also, Captain Matt never missed an opportunity to join in on the fun and laughs, adding a special twist to the trip. If you are looking for a great fishing trip, Nautical Charters is the way to go! I highly recommend Captain Matt. Our ride out to the jetty was 10-15 minutes and we were on fish within the first 30 minutes. My wife and I were both lucky enough to use our one-day over-length limit on red drum, and also caught some nice sheepshead as well. Rods & reels were maintained for and in good condition and we had plenty of live shrimp on-hand. Would book with Captain Matt again.

4 hr AM jetty fishing., captain was at the dock gate when we arrived and walked with us to the slip.
  Helped all 4 of us onto the boat.  2 men that fish fresh water . 1 woman that never fished and 1 that goes with her husband sometimes.  Off we go windy and large waves , captain reset out date after calling and letting us know our original date was going to be to windy to catch fish( thanks captain !!)  we arrive at our spot and he positions the boat .
We are all excited to get our hooks wet ( still rough waves) but we get our live shrimp out on the line and BAM. . My wife catches her first fish ever and the first of the day Red Fish over 28” ,
  Waves start the die down and fish are biting we caught 11 red fish but could only keep 4 ( oh what fun)  I caught well over a dozen white fish on plastic , not a great fish but still fun .
    End of the day I loved the attention that was given to the ladies so we could fish. He put us on the red fish.  Hoping when we go back we can catch some other type of fish also and the weather is a little better.

Outstanding experience.  Great communication in the days leading up to the trip.  Capt. Mike was very personable, easy to talk to, and great with our family.  Our family had a few with some experience on bigger boats in open water and some with no fishing experience at all, none of us with salt water experience.  He took the time to show us what to do, helped when help was needed, and answered everyone’s questions.  He is a very knowledgeable Captain.  We were on the fish the entire trip, could not have been better!  We had dual and triple fish on several times, never a dull moment the entire trip.  We were doing catch and release due to our vacation schedule, but if we were keeping fish for the freezer we would have limited out on black and red drum.  Several Catfish in there too.  Our largest was a 34 lb. black drum that took about 20 minutes to land on a small reel, the fight was amazing, not the kind of fishing we are used to back home. 

Read some reviews on other charters and Capt. Matt’s that complained about boats amenities, seating and tackle.  Let’s remember ladies and gents, these are fishing boats your going on, not luxury yachts.  These boats are built for sport, not lounging.  If your looking to sit in a lounger and be spoon fed, maybe real fishing isn’t for you.  Capt. Matt’s boat is a good size boat, seating while traveling to and from the fishing spots comfortably seats 4, you can squeeze 5-6 on the two benches.  We brought a small cooler with drinks and snacks, that was another seat.  The boat advertises a toilet, we didn’t need it, so we didn’t see it.  Tackle was good, more than enough rods for our family of 5, we put out two heavy reels to soak (although not much soaking with how good the bite was) and had 5 small reels in use the entire trip.  The boat was clean and Capt. Matt continually cleaned up after each catch. 

Outstanding trip and experience.  If we are ever vacationing again to Galveston , we will definitely do another trip with Cap. Matt.

Great time with Captain Matthew! We limited out too quick lol. He was very professional and knowledgeable about fishing techniques and tips. Captain Matthew communicated great, on time and well prepared. I would highly recommend!
