Trip Summary

The bite is still on fire here in the Florida Keys. We are fishing the patches and reefs on the ocean side which is holding tons of snapper, cobia, yellowtail, yellow jacks and grouper. As of Dec. 31st grouper is closed so they are catch and release until April 1st. On the gulf side, which we call "out back" we are fishing wrecks and rock structures. Yesterday we had a friendly fishing competition for 2 hours out back and my wife and I caught 8 grouper and 19 snapper. We are using all live bait and chum. Captain Jason Gabriel with Boneafide Fishing Charters. We are located in the Lower Keys. A short Drive from Marathon or Key West.
