When you’re in Sri Lanka, you can’t miss its food markets, which are filled with fish. And there’s a very good reason for it - it’s exceptionally tasty! It’s a real treat and pleasure to enjoy these specialties, but the best way to enjoy the taste even better is if you catch the fish on your own. Join Bentota Fishing with Captain Saman and start your adventure here!
Things get sweet right from the start, as the captain will meet you at the marina right next to the Cinnamon Beach. You’ll hop aboard a custom built 19’ boat that accommodates up to 3 guests. The boat offers a comfortable ride, with lots of seating space and a T-top to keep you in the shade. Powered by a simple Yamaha engine, the boat will gently take you to your fishing spot.
You’ll start in the city river and go to the open sea, all the way to the offshore spots. This is where you’ll get the chance to target Mahi Mahi, Barracuda, Pink Snapper, Tuna, or Mackerel. Let the captain know what you want to catch or what your skill level is, and he’ll adjust the trip for you. Some fish won’t be in the season when you arrive but there’s always something to tight your line.
The captain covers your fishing equipment but you need to take care of other things, such as your fishing license, snacks, drinks, and sun protection.
Kids are welcome to join on these trips and it doesn’t matter if you have fishing experience or not. Bentota Fishing with Capt. Saman is here to make your day on the water a memorable adventure!
