North Vancouver’s Fraser Legends Fishing has its very own motto: "Create your own legend." What could be more legendary than catching your very own Sturgeon? Even better, you’ll be able to reach your own personal world record and help conserve this incredible prehistoric fish at the same time.
The man behind your trip, Captain Peter Krahn, is a staunch supporter of the Sturgeon Conservation Society. He’s an official Sturgeon-tagger, and this respect for these creatures is at the center of the adventures he offers on board his charter.
When you embark on your trip with Capt. Peter, you’ll help with tagging, measuring, and checking the health of these magnificent fish before releasing them back into one of the mighty rivers – Fraser, Pitt, and Harrison. These fish are pretty acrobatic, so expect to witness some impressive leaps out of the water!
You’ll get to submit the information you gather on your fish to the Fraser River White Sturgeon Conservation Society for cataloging and registration of information. If you’re the first person to catch and tag a specific fish, your name will be registered as the original angler. You’ll be part of this fish’s history!
You’ll be fishing from your captain’s 19’ KingFisher jet boat, built to cruise these freshwater fishing grounds. She’s decked out with all the necessary safety and navigational gear and can accommodate up to 4 guests. Sometimes there are periods of waiting for the fish to bite, so children should be 12 years or older to join in on the fun.
