Make the most of your holiday with an adventure on the water. Be Hard Sportfishing promises to take you to the rich waters out of Baja California Sur in search of some of the world's most prized fish. Leave the crowded beaches behind and hop aboard a traditional, productive fishing charter.
A professional charter operator since 2004, Captain Oscar Mercado has built the business up from the ground. An avid angler himself, he now employs Captains Edgar and Anthony, who will look after you. Both have years of experience behind them and promise to do everything they can to make sure you land the catch of your dreams.
There's room for up to 3 anglers aboard the 23' traditional Arca de la Paz boat. Built with fishing in mind, she's light and agile, meaning you'll get to the fishing grounds in no time. She boasts outriggers and fighting chair to give you the edge over the fish, too, so get ready for an exciting day out.
Make yourself at home aboard, and don't forget to load up with drinks and snacks and bring your own cooler. You'll need all the energy you can get, as you put your strength to the test against some monster creatures.
Even on a half-day trip, you'll come up against some serious beasts, with Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and Yellowtails all calling these rich waters home. Get ready to work up a sweat to land what may be the catch of your lifetime, and may prove to be a delicious treat at the end of the day.
Experienced spearfishers are welcome aboard to test their skills with a pole gun too. The crew has plenty of equipment for all on board, but just make sure to get in touch before you go so that everything is set up for you.
At the end of your trip, you can head to a beachside cleaning station to have your fish prepared ready for cooking. All you need to do is show up at least 30 minutes before departure and away you go.

My 9-year-old son was thrilled, and Armando patiently taught him essential skills like tying hooks and lures, leveraging the rod for better control, and guiding the line smoothly. It was an invaluable learning experience for a young angler. Shifting gears, we trolled the open waters and hooked a vibrant Mahi-Mahi, followed by several Skipjack, Bonita, and Sierra fish. The morning was action-packed, with non-stop bites and reeling. This trip was perfect for a father-son bonding experience—truly memorable and heartfelt. We found a school of tuna very quickly and hooked up the first one in less than 30 minutes!!! Ended up with 80–90 tuna. Oscar also arranged dinner at a sushi place he knows and dropped me off at the hotel. Thanks so much! 10 out 10!

Half Day Trip on November 2, 2021 • 2 adultsThis was by far the best fishing charter we have been on. It was so great that we even booked a second trip with him the same week. Oscar is very friendly and knows his stuff when it comes to fishing, and Armando is so helpful and is always smiling. On our first trip we caught a total of 5 Mahi-Mahi, we did release one because it was a small female but it was an amazing day in this beautiful place. Our second trip we went out for Marlin and did we catch some. We had hooked three, but lost the first two. We managed to get the third one in after some time fighting. You will not be disappointed fishing with Oscar :)
