So glad I booked this 5hr fishing trip with Rishi, his mate and a friend of mine. Booking was simple and Rishi confirmed the meeting arrangements/location promptly via WhatsApp.
His mate met us where we parked our car just before 7am and took us to the boat. Rishi took us about 10mins away from shore, set up and baited the rods and gave us clear, simple instructions for “bottom fishing”. Within a couple of minutes we had both caught our first of many fish. Being novices and not having fished for several years, it was a satisfying experience indeed. After an hour or so, the fish became a bit more elusive and the sea a little choppy so Rishi suggested we try a different type of fishing inside the reefs with a spinner whilst gently driving the boat. We were again rewarded catching several more fish. The weather was mostly sunny but with one shower which Rishi managed to avoid by manouvering to a different position. We were also lucky to spot a school of dolphins as well. We were offered a few of our catch to take home, which his mate gutted for us. We were also offered soft drinks and snacks too. I can certainly recommend anyone looking for a truly memorable day out to book this crew. You won’t be disappointed. Thanks Rishi…... fish, fish, fish!

I booked the half day morning trip with Captain Rishi and i would highly recommend you do the same. There are lots of flashier and more visually appealing outfits out there (and I’m sure the vast majority of them are great) but as everyone who fishes know - knowledge is everything and Rishi has huge amounts of it. He’s genuinely passionate about fishing and has dedicated his life to fishing these waters and really knows where to go and how to handle the circumstances. A fisherman’s fisherman ! He found some great spots to fish and we were having a lot of success when others (including locals) were struggling - we could hear their complaints on the radio and as we passed by them on the waters! This was very much down to Rishi’s brilliant instincts and knowledge. 

We had a great day with the biggest catch being a 25kg Yellow Fin tuna. We only landed about 50% of the fish we caught as the local sharks decided to pop by for some brunch !!! All in all we had a very active 7 hours and a real big game fishing experience.

Don’t hesitate to book Rishi - he’s a brilliantly professional and passionate fisherman that will do everything in his power to make it the best experience for you.

I think the picture says everything, it was an unvorgetable trip. Directly after we left we searched for dolphins. After a while they appeared and we had the chance to swim with them. The first few hours of fishing there where no bites just some smaller tuna which we used as bait, but Rishi and his crewmember tried everything they could and it was worth it. On the way back we also saw a whale i dont know which species but it was a giant. Also as erveryone admited the samosa’s his mother made are delicious. I would totaly recomend it.

We spent a whole day fishing trip with Rishi Excursions, headed by Captain Rishi. The best trip you could ask for in Mauritius. Support local, they know the best spots. Provides snacks and drinks as well, very nice to have a chat with. We will be doing a trip again. Pleasant people and great experience, will recommend to anyone. We caught 5 Bonitos and 4 big Tuna in only about three hours. Also maybe the best price and value for money you will get. Enjoy your trip with Captain Rishi!
