Explore one of Florida’s best-kept-secrets aboard Timucua Guide Co.! You’ll head out with Captain Hunter Smith, a knowledgable guide who’s super familiar with the Nassau River and the waters surrounding Jacksonville. Anglers who have a grasp of the basic skills and even kids old enough to hold a rod will all have an epic time onboard!

Your ride for the day is an 18’ East Cape skiff, powered by a 60 HP Suzuki engine. She can take advantage of just about any situation from extremely shallow flood tides, to deeper beachside honey holes. This is the ideal vessel for a pair of anglers looking to have a productive day of fishing.

Capt. Hunter shows you what Northeastern Florida’s marsh has to offer at its fullest potential. With plenty of Spotted Seatrout, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Redfish and Sheepshead to go after, you’ll be casting all day long. There are some bigger targets on offer too, like Bull Shark and Tarpon in season. Depending on skill level, anglers can either fly or spin fish.

Plus, there’s the opportunity to explore Florida’s famous flood tides. This unique phenomenon occurs when Redfish, Sheepshead, and Black Drum swim-up onto the grass flats to graze on fiddler crabs and shrimp. This is one of the most unique and challenging experiences a fly fisherman can have!

All of Capt. Hunter’s trips are catch and release only. He’ll provide all the spinning and fly fishing gear you need, just bring along drinks and snacks to keep you going throughout the day.

Fish some of the most beautiful and remote areas in Northeastern Florida with Timucua Guide Co.!

Captain Hunter Smith, owner of Timucua Guide Co., is a Northeast Florida native who has lived on the Nassau River his entire life. Being so close to the water, Capt. Hunter has picked up on many patterns and phenomenons not typically noticed by recreational anglers, making him one of the most knowledgeable guides in the area. As one of the youngest people to ever become a USCG accredited fishing guide, and having owned his own boat since the age of 13, Capt. Hunter is ready to help you experience what the Northeast Florida marsh has to offer to its fullest potential. Starting out at a young age as a casual live bait fisherman, and gradually evolving to a technical fly fisherman, captain Hunter Smith is very knowledgeable in many areas and skill levels of fishing.
