Gulf Shore Local, Captain Shawn is the real deal! He loves what he does and it shows. From the Patriot, Shearwater vessel, his equipment, to cleaning your catch after the charter, he takes excellent care you.

Captain Shawn has a 100 Ton Captain’s License and prior to becoming a Charter boat Captain, commercial fished, in the waters where you’ll be fishing and with many friends still in the commercial industry, he always knows where to put you on the bite!

He takes care in accommodating his guests, especially our Veterans, elderly and children. He also, listens to what his anglers want.

The waters are rich with multiple species of fish, you don’t have to travel far to get your lines in the water.

Whether you want to just have some fun, catch a trophy, or stock your freezer, he’ll make it happen.

Want to catch a shark? He’s a master in that too!

*He has RV parking, right in Bon Secour, to accomodate you while you enjoy your vacation.

I started my fishing career, as a commercial fisherman, but after the Gulf oil spill, I had no choice, but to move. I moved to Kona, Hawaii, where I applied my expertise, to big game fishing. I enjoyed it so much, I bought a boat and Kona Cowboy was born. My wife Kimberly and I, worked together and established a very successful business, but something was missing. I realized, I missed my days fishing in the Gulf, along with that incredible southern hospitality. So we sold "Kona" Cowboy, moved back to Gulf Shores, AL and the "Reel" Cowboy was home. I have over 35 years experience, in commercial and sport fishing combined. Nothing makes me happier, than sharing my love for fishing, with new or experienced fisherman. Fishing is the only and best job, I've ever had. I'm a true, born fisherman.
