Papagayo Sportfishing – Manta

You’ve found the right charter, now you only need to decide which of their boats you need. Papagayo Sportfishing has a fleet and operates from different locations all over Costa Rica. Regardless of your group’s size or fishing skills, the crew can accommodate you and make sure you have everything you need.

Join the crew on a 28’ “La Manta” boat that accommodates up to 3 guests. This offshore sportfishing vessel has 210 HP Cummins engine, that will take you smoothly and safely to your fishing grounds. La Manta is equipped with tuna tubes, navigational electronics, a fighting chair, and a private toilet.

In the nearshore waters, you’ll be able to target Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper, and Yellowtail Amberjack. But if you’re ready for real rod-bending action, go a few miles further and target Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, or Tuna. You’ll mainly fish by trolling but you can always switch to jigging, spinning, and bottom fishing.

If you’re an avid fly fisherman, feel free to bring your fly fishing equipment. Other rods, reels, and bait are fully covered by the crew. Each trip also includes fruit and soft drinks, while on a full day trip you’ll have sandwiches as well. The crew will clean and bag the fish that’s edible, so you can take it to a restaurant or a hotel after the trip.

Contact the captain if you need a pickup. If it’s only a few miles away, they can take you to the marina for free.
