You’ll meet with your captain in the late afternoon, and as the sun is setting, you’ll hit the water in search of your prey. You’ll use top-of-the-line Penn, Daiwa, and Shimano gear, as well as an assortment of lures to get the fish to bite. If you’d like to use live bait, you’ll catch it at the beginning of the trip, if it’s in the season. Otherwise, your guide can buy it for an additional charge.
The vessel that will be your fishing platform and ride is a 22’ Pathfinder bay boat with more than enough room to accommodate up to 4 people. With a strong 250 HP Yamaha engine that will take you to the fishing grounds in no time, reliable navigational electronics, and a trolling motor, you’re fully-equipped for a fishing hunt. Fly fishing is also an option, just make sure to let your guide know in advance, and he’ll arrange everything.
Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned angler, you’re going to have a blast fishing with Capt. Johnny. Kids are welcome to join you, as long as they’re at least 6 years old, just make sure to bring life jackets for them. It’s also a good idea to pack some food and drinks to stay energized in between the bites.
