HotFish Charleston is dedicated to fishing for the most exciting species and having a great time on the water. This is what they’ll take you out to do! Guided by Captain Mike, who has been guiding professionally for over 15 years and fishing for over 35 years, you will have no trouble fulfilling this goal. He is a knowledgeable, world-class Captain, who has fished all over the States including Alaska, the Rocky Mountain west, Georgia, Florida, and even in Europe.
Captain Mike will take you out on his 18 foot Hell’s Bay Boatworks flats boat, originally built in 2016. It is powered by a 70 HP Yamaha engine that makes it fast on the shallow waters, but silent enough not to spook the fish at the same time. The boat is equipped with a GPS and all the safety equipment you might need on your trip, as well as an icebox that you’ll use to keep the catch fresh until your return to the shore.
Targeted species will include the super delicious and good quality game fish like Redfish, Black Drum, and Spotted Seatrout. These fish populate the inshore and flats waters in the Isle of Palms and Charleston, and you’ll have a great time catching them. Captain Mike knows these waters well so he’ll take you to the best spots, and if needed provide expert advice on catching them.
HotFish Charleston will provide you with all the fishing gear needed, including fly fishing equipment and a fishing license, so all you have to bring is a positive attitude. And sunglasses.

Capt. Mike gave us a great day. His knowledge of the area, the ecosystem, and fishing strategies and tactics were invaluable. It was hot, tough, muggy day and although we didn’t catch a fish we had an amazing experience and we’ll definitely book with Mike again when we are back in Charleston.
