Lake Taneycomo is the tailwaters of Table Rock Lake. Depending on whether the dam is generating electricity or not, it’s either a river or a lake, which changes the way the captain fishes. The river/lake is 22 miles long. If the dam is flowing, you’ll usually drift with the current, if not, it’s more like lake fishing.

In recent years, some anglers have caught a 40-pound Brown Trout. Of course, this isn’t a standard and doesn’t happen every day, but who knows? Maybe the next 40-pounder ends up on your hook!

You’ll be fishing on a 24’ Sea Ark boat that accommodates up to 6 anglers. She’s powered by a 140 HP Suzuki engine and reaches the speed of 35 knots. The boat is wheelchair accessible, features navigational electronics, and also has a live bait tank and a cooler.

The captain will cover your fishing equipment and fresh water. If you’re an avid fly fisherman, feel free to bring your own fly gear. Don’t forget to purchase your fishing license and pack some snacks and drinks.

    December January and February have fun catching hard fighting Rainbow and Brown Trout and an ocasional Walleye on the tail waterd of Table Rock Dam on Lake Taneycomo. Its sometimes a lake and sometimes a river. The Mo State record Brown Trout came out of these waters over 41 lbs very close to the world record.
