Absolutely incredible experience. Our first time in Alaska and my wife’s first fishing trip. Jared should be your first and only choice to guide you if you’re looking to fish on the Kenai. His knowledge of the river and accommodation throughout the half day was top notch. The only complaint I have is that I have to lower my wife’s expectations for our future fishing trips because we caught so many salmon.

All the gear (fishing rods, waiters, shoes, etc.) was provided for us. Jared cleans and fillets your catch at the end of the trip and puts them in bags. Maybe just bring a cooler to throw your fish in at the end to bring to a nearby fish processing store. We had ours vacuum sealed to bring back to the lower 48. We also brought a small backpack with water and snacks but never touched it because there was so much action in the water. Jared is really dedicated to the customers overall experience. We are extremely thankful to have had him as our guide.

I went with Jared twice in the last month. First time was too early in the season on Kasilof, but even that trip was amazing due to the views, wdlife and Jared! He notified me prior to both trips how fish were running and what we could expect, and be was spot on!  This was on the Kenai and was a blast! Jared was knowledgeable and gave pointers along the way to make sure I was casting like I should. Caught limit for sockeye and they were fun to catch! Will use him everytime I come to Alaska!

Jared is an excellent captain. His years of experience make him a fantastic choice to navigate the Kenai. Jared took his time to provide helpful tips and suggestions to improve our techniques. We were both novices and each caught our limit of Red Salmon by about half the day.
Highly recommended. When we come back, we’ll definitely go with Jared again!!

The fish may have not been cooperating but Capt Jared didn’t give up. I caught my first salmon in the last few minuted of the day - all thanks to efforts of our guide.  What a great way to celebrate my 61st birthday!  Both the boat and equipment were very well maintained and I would definitely recommend this excursion to anyone!

We had a wonderful afternoon with Jared. We all caught fish and the boys didn’t want to leave. Clearly experienced, very professional and just an overall nice person. His first mate Kelsey was a perfect addition to complete our foursome. TY J&K, we will be back!
