Captain Drew Cavanaugh, welcomes you to Florida Inshore Fishing Charters! He runs fishing trips in Mosquito Lagoon backcountry, Ponce Inlet nearshore, Halifax Indian River, and Orlando saltwater flats year round. Capt. Drew has been fishing in the area eve since 1980, so there’s hardly a spot he doesn’t know of. He equally accommodates both novices and experienced anglers, so there’s something for everyone.

Join Capt. Drew on his 17’ Hewes Redfisher boat that accommodates up to 3 anglers. This flats boat is powered by a 115 HP Yamaha engine and equipped with GPS, VHF radio, and fishfinder. The boat also features a live bait tank, a cooler, and a wireless trolling motor, when you need to sneak up on fish.

Since Capt. Drew specializes in back water flats fishing, you’ll mainly go after Tarpon using light tackle. You can also go spinning for Redfish, Cobia, Snapper, Tripletail, Snook, Seatrout, and Black Drum. Capt. prefers “catch and release” policy, so once caught, the fish will be released back unharmed.

Capt. Drew will fully cover your fishing license and equipment, and he usually prepares live bait in advance. He can also bring fly fishing equipment for you, just make sure to mention this in advance. There’s going to be fresh water on the boat but you can always bring other beverages you prefer and your snacks.

Florida Inshore Fishing Charters is a family-friendly charter, so bring your kids if they are at least 3 years old. Choose a date and spend a lovely, relaxing day on the flats!

Born in Montana and moved to Florida as a kid. I started fishing the backcountry waters in 1980 and have been fishing saltwater ever since. I decided to turn my hobby into a career. My favorite fish is the Tarpon. For me, this isn't just a job, it's a lifestyle! I love helping people catch their first fish.
