Located on the Elands River, the Dam is home to some of the best top-water action around. Anglers who prefer light tackle spinning or fly fishing are in for an epic time with Captain Michael Hüsgen, a self-proclaimed fishing junkie.
Hop aboard his 18’ Thunderbird bass boat, ideal for a pair of anglers looking for a productive day on the water. This lightweight vessel gets you where you need to go fast. There’s plenty of storage for your gear and a big platform for you to cast from.
Rust de Winter Dam is known for its Largemouth Bass population and slow rolling spinnerbaits is the best way to catch some. You’ll also go after wildly fun-to-catch Tigerfish! Just remember, Capt. Michael’s trips are strictly catch and release. There’s tons of wildlife to take in too. The Dam is home to a big crocodile and hippo population and over 400 bird species!
Capt. Michael provides all of the gear you need for an effective day of spinning. Fly fishing is only available on the single person trip and you do need to bring your own gear. He’ll provide bottled water, soft drinks, sandwiches, and snacks so you can stay out all day long. Just bring along sun cream and a hat and you’re good to go!
Experience freshwater fishing in a one-of-a-kind setting with Michael’s Bass Charters!
