Gatun Lake is home to many different fish species like Ladyfish, Cubera Snapper, Snook, Tarpon, Needlefish, Peacock Bass, Tilapia, Jack Crevalle, White Seabass, Tigerfish, and more, depending on the season.
During the trip, PFT is going to show all the different fishing techniques that we use for fishing, such as spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized like fly fishing!!
We had the best flies, colors, sizes for make you sure to have a lof capture! In our boat Polar skiff 18ft with a big platforms of 8ft x 8ft.
Your trip begins aboard on boat that holds up to 4 passengers design for sportfishingtrip . It has all the extra equipment, trolling motors, gps, fishfinder, Bluetooth audio system, spot satellital communicator.
Their tacklebox has more than 400 lures for you. Live bait is always onboard.
It’s recommended to bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses.
Drinks, beers and bottled water are included, free of charge. There will be food and some light snacks for you on board.

Best Fishing Trip Ever!

Let me lead off with this - My wife and I enjoyed our trip so much today that we immediately booked another 5.5-hour trip for tomorrow.
Captain Rene was everything you'd hope for in a guide, friendly, knowledgeable, and an absolute pleasure to spend the day with.
He personally picked us up from our hotel and brought us to the launch, where his boat was ready and fully stocked with water, sodas, snacks, and even a wrap for lunch. Throughout the day, Rene shared helpful tips with my wife, which paid off big, she landed a tournament sized bass, a huge snook, a tiger fish, and several more bass.
What stood out most was how dedicated he was to making sure we had the best possible experience. He was professional, personable, and clearly passionate about what he does.
I can't recommend Rene and his company highly enough. In fact, we've already decided to come back in January to fish with him again. If you're thinking about booking, don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed.
One last thing, Rene provided us with over 30 high-res pics of our day AND a social media worthy video of the highlights. By the time we got to our hotel room, we had it all in our inbox, for free....no high pressure back-end sales pitch...Wow!

This was my second trip with Captain Renee; the first was a year ago. Last year I caught a ton of fish, but one that we tried for, we struck out on: a Tarpoon. This year, I chose to focus on Tarpoon, knowing it would be risky just landing one of these giants. While we did catch several species of fish, including my first Lady Fish and my Personal best Peacock Bass... The Tarpoon was elusive; we did see a few and even had one giant chase after my lure only to turn around at the last second.
If you book a trip with Renee, you should ask him to coach your fishing. I did, and I learned a ton from his honest tips and tricks. Hoping to get back one the water with Renee again soon!

Incredible day on the water. Communication with the Captain was so easy and he always replied promptly. We arranged for pick-up at our hotel for a small extra fee. Well worth it as it's by Gamboa. I caught the Peacock bass of my dreams from my target species list. The Captain was very patient with our group and explained exactly what to do. I swear he could see the fish in water and knows exactly how they feed and chase. We also landed a Jack and got to see toucans, monkeys and crocodiles!

This was my second trip with Rene, and just like before, he was fantastic. He knows the area inside and out and makes sure you're targeting the fish you're after. He's a great guide—fun, patient, and always willing to teach the techniques that actually work. We had an absolute blast chasing tarpon and a school of peacock bass, and even got lucky with a rare sighting of a black dolphin.

A Memorable Angling Adventure

Before boarding Captain Rene's boat we were welcomed as friends, instead of simply clients. Captain Rene Him was not only a knowledgeable guide and fisherman, but well versed in the history and ecosystem of the Panama Canal. The weather was not ideal, but we stayed busy catching beautiful Peacock Bass. The surrounding landscape and wildlife observed was worth the cost. Captain Rene Him turned a fishing trip into a memorable outdoor adventure.
