Seaya Fishing covers all things fishing in the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park. Captains Brian Helms and Rob Schemmel are two experts of the area. Join one of them on a trip of a lifetime fly fishing the flats of the Keys or by getting a great catch in the beautiful waters of the Everglades. They take anglers of all ages and abilities and will individually tailor your trip to make it unforgettable.

Their 18’ Hell’s Bay boat is specifically designed to cruise on the flats, and it can do so at speeds of up to 40 knots. It’s powered by a reliable 90 HP Yamaha engine that allows you to jet around the Keys and Everglades with ease.

Brian and Rob are passionate fishermen and aim to catch a wide variety of fish using different techniques. Barracuda, Redfish, Bonefish, and Jack Crevalle are a few of the common species in the waters that you’ll explore. You’ll reel them in using techniques such as spinning, jigging and fly fishing - just make sure you let them know ahead of the trip if you want to fly fish.

All of the necessary fishing equipment is included in the price along with live bait that they’ll provide before the trip. They mostly undertake catch and release fishing but the option of having your fish cleaned is included in the price. Your fishing license is also part of the package. However, if you wish to fish in the Everglades, then an additional license is required.

Drinking water is provided, but feel free to bring along extra drinks as well as snacks. For a magnificent trip that overlaps the Keys and the Everglades, look no further.

A 6-hour trip is recommended as the minimum if you would like to take advantage of the Everglades National Park. Those extra couple of hours make a big difference due to the distance between the fishing grounds. Expect to target Ladyfish, Permit, Redfish, and Sharks among others on this tour.

4 Hour Trip, starts at 7:00 AM
    $500
A 4 hour morning trip is a great way to start off your day. Admire the sunrise on the eastern Atlantic horizon, as you make your way to some of the area's best fishing grounds. As you make this trip you'll quickly realize that the views are one of the reasons Brian and Rob love to fish in this area in particular.
  • Private trip
    Half Day Trip (PM)

4 Hour Trip, starts at 12:00 PM
    $500
If you can't handle early rises but can handle the afternoon heat then this trip is more suited for you. Brian and Rob love to teach children and beginners about how to fish. A 4-hour trip is perfect for this as the day is not too overbearing, meaning that you or your younger ones will be itching to go fishing again soon after.

Growing up in Homestead, FL, the waters of the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park were my backyard. I began guiding at the age of 18 and my passion has only grown since then. I moved full time to Islamorada in 2004, and in 2011 I partnered up with Capt. Rob Schemmel in order to meet the needs of a growing list of happy clients. Capt. Rob grew up in South Florida as well and is experienced in offshore and inshore fishing. We generally use fly rods or spinning rods depending on the type of trip you are looking for - of course, we can bring both if you’d like! We are happy to give pointers and share our extensive local knowledge in order to make your trip the best experience you can have.
