J, Standifer Guide – Astoria
Experience the best Sturgeon fishing in the Columbia River aboard “J, Standifer Guide Service”! Come May, it doesn’t get much better than in the Astoria estuary. Take advantage of that productivity with Captain Jamie Standifer, a lifelong Oregon resident, and avid angler. He’ll show guests of all skill levels the thrill of fishing in the Pacific Northwest.
His 28’ River Wild aluminum fishing boat is the perfect vessel for navigating these unique waters. She can accommodate up to 6 anglers who can all fish at the same time. The latest in GPS and Fish Finder keep you on the fish and there’s even a portable toilet on board for your comfort.
One of the many reasons why fishing for Sturgeon in the Astoria Estuary is so great is the shallow-water action. You’ll use light tackle to hook fish in waters as shallow as 3 feet! Giant Sturgeon feed in these sandy flats, making for some seriously rod-bending action.
All of the gear you need for a productive day of fishing is provided by Capt. Standifer. Help yourself to the bottled water already on board or bring any drinks and snacks you’d like to enjoy in a cooler.
Enjoy fishing in the Pacific Northwest for this formidable fish aboard J, Standifer Guide Service!
