Fished Cabo multiple trips in past. First time fishing with El Budsters pride.  Started slow as I had went against Captains recommendations of staying in closer with a good chance of catching multiple Dorado and maybe Marlin.  Captain Luis said let’s give the off shore tuna a try anyway as requested.  4.5 hrs in too trip with no action, Captain made a turn in closer to where he originally thought best.  In two hours we landed the first, a trophy size 45lb bull Dorado.  A short time later we hooked a smaller Dorado, perfect for dinner at Captain Tony’s.  Next up my first ever Sail at 60 lbs.  Followed by a 80lb striped marlin.  What a day!  Couldn’t have been more pleased with any other outfit in Cabo San Lucas.

We recently fished a half day trip for marlin only per our request (despite the mahi bite being better).Captain Juan was honest and said what we have to come to learn about marlin fishing, there is no guarantee to land one. We went about 10 miles out and began to troll and within a few minutes we hooked up to our only fish of the day, an accidental mahi mahi. The boat was clean and had a good restroom, all tackle and gear was top notch, bait, ice, drinks, lunch, and fishing licenses were provided and ready to go for our group. The captain and deckhand worked very hard to put us on fish, and changed our lures, baits, dredges, ext… throughout the trip. I have been on several guided trips out of Cabo and this was one of the best. The lack of fish had nothing to do with a lack of effort or knowledge, some days they just won’t bite and no amount of experience can change that. I am completely confident that with the captain and crew, along with the tackle and techniques we were using, we would’ve had no problem landing a Marlin on a better day. Thanks for the crew of el budster pride for having us out and trying their hardest to get us on a marlin on a tough day.

Couldn’t have asked for a better trip!! Boat was super clean and the bathroom was spotless, very important as I was with my beautiful wife and I chartered the boat. Captain Ruiz was very knowledgeable, made sure of what we wanted to fish for and super nice. First mate, Rueben, was top notch and a really a kind, good guy that knows how to fish and what to do. They took care of me and my wife from the very start of the trip to the end- first class. Me and my both caught our very first marlins (stripped marlins), limit of dorado and some skip jacks. Highly recommend anyone book these guys, met all expectations and then some. Will come back to these guys on my next trip out of Cabo.

i have been on a few charters in Mexico and the Caribbean and I can’t explain how much this trip blows the others away!  Let’s start with the crew.  Luis and his first mate were punctual, hospitable, and all about getting us on fish.  You could tell they both take their jobs very seriously and want to make sure everyone has a great experience.  Second, the fishing.  We started out going for Marlin, and only having a half day trip, it gave us a pretty tight window to get on to them.  The first 3 hours were pretty slow with a couple Marlins sighted but no takers.  It was here that we asked Luis if it made sense to maybe do some inshore fishing to at least give the boys some excitement in the day…we thought we would catch a few Skipjacks and be done with it.  Luis changed fishing plans with no questions asked and within 10 minutes we were on a dorado double header…then another…then a skipjack double header.  The last 90 minutes were mayhem!  7 Dorados and we lost count on the Skipjacks!  These guys were absolutely awesome.
