The estuary area of Mobile bay is an ecosystem that makes for a prime fishing ground. One of the guides in the area, Sam Glass has been fishing extensively in the nearshore and inshore waters of the Gulf of Mexico for over 15 years now. He runs FlyWay Charters, specializing in fly fishing and light tackle sight fishing.
Sam will take you out on an 18’ Hell’s Bay skiff, which is perfect for fishing on the flats. It was built in 2019 and its 70 HP engine allows you to skip around at speeds of up to 40 knots.
Sam specializes in saltwater fly fishing for Red Fish, Black Drum, Jack Crevalle, Sheepshead, Gar, and other species found in the shallows of Alabama’s beautiful Gulf Coast. He also offers bowfishing trips that will see you firing arrows towards species such as Carp, Buffalo, Sheepshead, Freshwater Drum, and Flounder.
Sam will provide you with Sage and G Loomis rods, Tibor and Hardy reels, as well as Shimano tackle for when you’re light fishing. Additionally, he will provide all of the equipment should you decide to go bowfishing. Your fishing license is covered by the captain, and he’ll clean your catch upon request (extra charge depending on quantity). Take food, drinks, non-marking shoes, sunglasses, sunscreen, and protective clothing along with you.
Come experience the wonders our marsh holds and capture memories sight fishing this incredible fishery.
