Short Drift Charters operates out of Boca Grande, FL, running a selection of trips aimed at getting the most fun and fish out of the local waters. Boca Grande is famous for its awesome fishing, both in its secluded back bays and murky shallows, and further out on the artificial reefs out in the gulf, and these guys can offer a trip aimed at just about anything with gills! Perhaps the best thing about Boca Grande is the huge amount (and size) of Tarpon which call the area home over spring and summer, giving the area the name “Tarpon capital of the world”.
The boat you will be fishing on is a 22 ft Aquasport center console with room aboard for up to 4 passengers. Completely overhauled in 2014, she is powered by a clean-burning 150HP Yamaha 4-stroke up to a top speed of 40 knots, meaning you’ll waste no time getting to the best fishing spots. The vessel comes equipped with GPS, fishfinder, a trolling motor to sneak up on spooky fish, and everything you will need for your day on the water, including a livewell bursting with fresh live bait.
Short Drift Charters runs half and full day trips set up specifically for the fish or area you would like to target. Explore the back bays for Redfish, Trout, Pompano and Snook, spend the whole day wrestling monster Tarpon, or head out to the artificial reefs in search of Goliath Grouper, Kingfish, and Amberjacks, as well as some huge Sharks.
No matter what you’re targeting, you will be furnished with nothing but the best fishing gear to make sure you bring in the best fish. This means a choice of light and heavy tackle, with the options to jig and bottom fish, as well as the all the equipment to fly and even spearfish!
All trips come with live bait, licences, and a cleaning and filleting service for whatever you want to take away at the end of the day.
