You may think fishing in Florida is confined to the coastal waters. However, just south of Orlando, you can experience great fishing on Lake Tohopekaliga.

Captain Bill and his team will be waiting for you in his Ranger bass boat. This elegant little craft is perfect for gliding across the lake’s gentle waters. It’s got fishfinder equipment and an onboard cooler with ice to keep your drinks cool in the afternoon heat.

Lake Tohopekaliga has plenty of Largemouth Bass for you to reel in. Captain Bill is a lifelong Bass fisherman and knows every trick in the book to help get you some catches. He’s well-supplied in light tackle and has Penn rods and Abu Garcia reels which make for a great kit when taking on the Bass.

You’ll be fishing with lures on this trip, but live bait can also be provided upon request. Captain Bill provides bottled water for his fellow fishermen but feels free to take your drinks with you and some food. You’ll need to book your Florida fishing license beforehand, which is available to purchase online.

Apart from that, you’re all set for a fabulous day targeting Largemouth Bass and maybe even some tasty Crappie as a little bonus on this relaxed trip to the lake.

    An early wake-up call will reward you with plenty of action down on Lake Tohopekaliga. The Largemouth Bass and Crappie love to get up and moving at dawn so you have a great chance to bag yourself a few of them before you head back for lunch. You'll mostly be performing basic spinning techniques using light tackle as that's all that's required to tempt these guys to the bite.

Hello, I am Captain Bill and a licensed master captain. Originally born in Iowa and raised on the Mississippi River. I've been fishing ever since I was a little kid. He has been married for 21 years and is a father of 4 and grandfather of 1. Two anglers embarked on a thrilling 6-hour journey with Captain Mike on Lake Toho. They began by targeting the lily pads near Grassy Island, where the water was teeming with activity. Using topwater frogs and chatterbaits, they enticed explosive strikes from aggressive bass lurking beneath the vegetation. As the sun rose higher, Captain Mike guided them to the Kissimmee grass lines along the northern shoreline. Here, they switched to Texas-rigged plastic worms and crankbaits, probing the submerged structure for trophy bass. Their patience paid off when one angler hooked into a monster bass weighing an impressive 9.2 pounds! The adrenaline-pumping fight had them on the edge of their seats as they worked together to land the behemoth. Not content to rest on their laurels, they continued their quest, exploring the submerged hydrilla beds near Brown's Point. Here, they found schools of hungry bass eager to take their offerings. Using jigs and swimbaits, they added several more quality fish to their tally, including several in the 5-7 pound range. As the clock ticked towards noon, the anglers reluctantly bid farewell to Lake Toho, their arms tired but their spirits soaring. With memories of trophy bass and heart-pounding battles etched into their minds, they knew they would be back for more adrenaline-fueled adventures on these legendary waters.
