Had a great trip with Fish n Tales in late July 2024.  Our boat outfished the competition (from what we saw) and we caught a great assortment of fish.  The first mate and captain are very knowledgeable and constantly adjusting/reacting to results.

We were on the water with Captain Mike and first mate Josh by 5am. Captain had a tough time setting lines as fish were there and active. What a whirlwind! Hit Cohos first, and then the Kings turned on! These fish have shoulders- awesome fights. Captain Mike knows his stuff! Migration patterns, depth, speed of presentation, and variances of lures and presentations. He patiently answered my many questions,  and we all enjoyed the breaking of morning on the big lake. Beautiful views, and these huge fish hurtling out of the water. When the bite slowed, we discovered a secret to getting fish to hit. I will keep that hidden, but fish with Captain Mike and he might tell you!
I cannot say enough about this trip! The boat is awesome to ride- and fast!
I cannot wait to do this again! Our vacation had been cold,  wet, and windy. This day was beautiful,  and the experience made it all worth it!

What a great time! Took my grandson for his first charter fishing trip. Captain Mike sat and explained what we were fishing for and how the day was going to work. Captain Mike and Josh were very patient and helpful with trying to get my grandson to land his first salmon. After two losses Carson landed his first fish and what a nice one it was. Eighteen pounds. The biggest fish of the day and the honor of being referred to for the rest of the day as Master Fisherman by his dad and papa. Truly a most memorable experience. Thanks again To Captain Mike and Josh.

Great day on the lake.  Captain Mike likes an early start (4:30 AM!) but it worked out well for us.  Despite stormy weather the night before (we could still see lightning to the south), the lake was dead calm.  Three fish early, and then 3 bit ones right at the end around 11 AM.  Mix of Chinook, Coho, and Steelhead.  This was my first time fishing on Lake Michigan, and I was amazed at how similar the Steelhead looked to salmon. 

I have to say the boat was the nicest / most luxurious charter I’ve ever been on, with a closed-off cabin with actual couches for crashing on.  Captain Mike seemed very experienced, and the hand (Josh) was friendly but new to the job (hence 4 stars not 5, but no complaints).  One mishap where a line broke, but the captain was on it and had the other side of the line in his hands, so we were able to hand-line the fish in (see video).  When cleaning the fish, Captain Mike was very accommodating of our desires to keep the collar, bones, and belly. 

All in all, very satisfied with the trip.

What an awesome experience!  Booked the trip to celebrate my husband’s 50th birthday and it did not disappoint!  The first date we chose was a morning with 35-45 mph wind.  Captain Mike contacted us early to put the option of rescheduling out there,  thankfully.  We did and two weeks later we were on the lake.  Weather started out great, then stormed,  but we were dry and we caught the fish of the day during the rain!  First mate Tim was awesome and very knowledgeable.  Came back in to sunshine and a cooler full of fish.  We will definitely be back!
